We are situated in a magnificent waterside location overlooking Loch Harport to Macleod’s Tables on the small fishing pier at Portnalong, ensuring a quiet and relaxing stay. Situated on the Minginish peninsula, close to the Cuillin Mountains, we are in the perfect location for walking, climbing, fishing and generally just exploring the many wonderful sights our island has to offer.
We have three comfortable guest bedrooms, each with an ensuite wet room.
Breakfast is served between 8am and 9am in the dining room and our room rates include a cold buffet breakfast of fruit juice, cereals, yoghurt, croissants, toast, tea/coffee and fruit.
If you prefer a cooked Scottish or English breakfast, this is available for an additional charge. We just ask that you inform us the evening before. Breakfast is served in the Dining Room with excellent views over the Harbour. Weather permitting, it may be possible to join Wayne for a trip on our own boat, the Catch 22. Enquire during your visit.
There is ample car parking space and free WiFi.
Please be aware that we DO NOT have a communal lounge for guest use.
However, weather permitting, we have picnic tables in the garden overlooking the loch where you can enjoy the local wildlife, have a picnic or even a glass of wine (available from our local shop in Carbost).
You might get lucky and spot dolphins and sea eagles. The Northern Lights can be seen during the winter months but they have even made an appearance as early as August. We have our own free-range chickens who like to wander around the garden.
We are only 3 miles from the village of Carbost, home to the famous Talisker Whisky Distillery. The village also has a well-stocked shop and “The Old Inn” where you can enjoy drinks and delicious food. Meals are served all day until 9 pm. They do not take reservations and due to its popularity in the summer months we recommend arriving here no later than 6.30 pm otherwise you may miss out. Regular live traditional music sessions also take place during the summer months. Evening meals are also available further afield at Sligachan, Dunvegan and Portree.
We are just 9 miles from the ever-popular Fairy Pools, Talisker Beach and Black Cuillins. Other stunning landmarks include:
The Isle of Skye is a large island and we do recommend a minimum stay of 2 nights (ideally 3 nights), which would allow you enough time to explore our Magical Misty Isle. Our rooms are let on a minimum 2-night basis.
