Bracadale House B&B

Luxury bed and breakfast on the Isle of Skye

About Bracadale House Bed and Breakfast

Wayne would like to welcome you to his home, Bracadale House Bed and Breakfast.

We are situated in a magnificent waterside location overlooking Loch Harport to Macleod’s Tables on the small fishing pier at Portnalong, ensuring a quiet and relaxing stay. Situated on the Minginish peninsula, close to the Cuillin Mountains, we are in the perfect location for walking, climbing, fishing and generally just exploring the many wonderful sights our island has to offer.

BED AND BREAKFAST

I have three comfortable guest bedrooms, each with an ensuite wet room.

Breakfast is served between 8am and 9am in the dining room and our room rates include a cold buffet breakfast of fruit juice, cereals, yoghurt, croissants, toast, tea/coffee and fruit.

If you prefer a cooked Scottish or English breakfast, this is available for an additional charge. We just ask that you inform us the evening before. Breakfast is served in the Dining Room with excellent views over the Harbour.

There is ample car parking space and free WiFi.

Views From The Garden

Please be aware that we DO NOT have a communal lounge for guest use.

However, weather permitting, we have picnic tables in the garden overlooking the loch where you can enjoy the local wildlife, have a picnic or even a glass of wine (available from our local shop in Carbost).

You may even get lucky and spot dolphins and sea eagles in and around the Bay. The Northern Lights can be seen mainly during the winter months but they have appeared as early as August and as late as May.

EXPERIENCE THE ISLE OF SKYE

We are only 3 miles from the village of Carbost, home to the famous Talisker Whisky Distillery. The village also has a well-stocked shop and “The Old Inn” where you can enjoy drinks and delicious food. Meals are served all day until 9 pm. They do not take reservations and due to its popularity in the summer months we recommend arriving here no later than 6.30 pm otherwise you may miss out. Regular live traditional music sessions also take place during the summer months. Evening meals are also available further afield at Sligachan, Dunvegan and Portree.

We are just 9 miles from the ever-popular Fairy Pools, Talisker Beach and Black Cuillins. Other stunning landmarks include:

  • Dunvegan Castle - 25 miles
  • Neist Point - 33 miles
  • The famous rock formation of the Quiraing in the North East - 37 miles
  • Elgol and the Misty Isle boat trips - 42 miles.
  • Clan Donald & Armadale castle in the South - 44 miles

The Isle of Skye is a large island and we do recommend a minimum stay of 3 nights (ideally 4 nights), which would allow you enough time to explore our Magical Misty Isle. My rooms are let on a minimum 2-night basis.

We were late arriving the first night, but Wayne was super understanding and responded immediately when we contacted him. When we arrived, he showed us a map of the island and gave us excellent advice on the route we should take, since we were short on time and it really is one of the most spectacular places in Scotland. The accommodation is in a super quiet location, on the shore of a lake, it provided a lot of peace. The rooms were super comfortable, well decorated, clean and have everything you need. The included breakfast was very good and they also give you flexibility, as you can choose between a hot or cold breakfast. Everything is very friendly, Wayne is a very open person and is always available to give tourist and gastronomic recommendations for the area and the country.

We had a lovely stay with Wayne! Everything was spot clean, the room and the bed were comfy and cosy. Wayne was easy to communicate with and ready with many helpful tips. In the evening you can see onto the water, watch the sunset from your bed and even see seals! 10/10.
